I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in New York and New Jersey with over 15 years of clinical experience working with individuals and couples.
I work primarily with men and couples who feel stuck in patterns they understand but have a hard time changing. For individuals, that might look like anxiety, relationship struggles, feeling disconnected, difficulty expressing emotions, or knowing something needs to change but not really knowing how to get there. With couples, I help partners understand the patterns they keep getting caught in, communicate better, work through conflict, and feel more connected to each other.
A lot of my approach comes from Internal Family Systems (IFS). I believe that when we slow down and really understand what’s happening underneath our reactions, even the things we don’t like about ourselves usually start to make a lot more sense. Instead of just trying to stop a behavior or get rid of an emotion, I want to help you understand where it’s coming from and why it’s there in the first place.
My Christian faith is also an important part of how I understand people, relationships, grace, and growth. If faith is important to you, I’m very comfortable making it part of our work together. That doesn’t mean having all the right answers or pretending that faith is always easy. There’s room in therapy for questions, doubts, frustration, and struggle too.
More than anything, I want therapy to be a place where you can be honest about what’s really going on. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you come in. We can start with where you are, understand what’s keeping you stuck, and work from there.
